Mark A. Cabral
Mark Cabral is a management professional with 24 years of experience in design, operations, construction, finance, and marketing with particular emphasis in business and project development within the energy sector and utility construction. Mark’s experience includes serving as a Project Engineer and Manager with PG&E’s gas transmission and distribution departments.
Mark is currently GTS’s lead engineer for our Hydrotest Department. He is responsible for overseeing and managing staff, engineering drawings, and engineering logistics. His skills also include planning, scheduling, and prioritizing projects. He is responsible for representing the engineering department when a test schedule needs to be revised or moved and provides explanation to the senior members of the hydrotest program. He manages multiple construction crews, fields questions, solves problems, and maintains strict project schedules.
Major Accomplishments
- Developed and expanded Moreno Trenching to take advantage of increased demand for joint trench services due to strong housing market. As member and then CFO, assisted in growing Moreno Trenching revenue from $12M in 1999 to more than $37M in 2006.
- Responsible for coordinating the engineering effort associated with cutting off and sealing the gas services to thousands of homes destroyed by a large wildfire, removing any water that entered into the system and restoring service to over 5100 existing customers who had their gas shut off in response to the fire.
- Oversaw construction and installation of three major river crossings of the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta with a 42” gas main.
- Managed a team that provided engineering, design and management services for capital investments for the entire 6,600 mile California transmission and gas gathering system.
- Led a team of 27 employees in the development and operation of PG&E’s 420-mile pipeline system in Queensland, Australia.
Mark has a B.S., Mechanical Engineering, University of Santa Clara and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California.
