Bob Gross
October 2, 1955 – November 10, 2015

GTS Co-Owner & Executive Vice President       2004 – 2015

Robert (Bob) G. Gross was born on October 2, 1955 in Avenal, CA – the first of three children born to Judy and Danny Gross. Bob enjoyed his small town roots and attended Avenal High School where he was the President of his Senior Class, an avid learner, and active in sports (football, track & field).

In 1973 Bob moved to Southern California where he attended Loyola-Marymount University. During college he was a Resident Assistant in the dorm and weekend DJ for the school radio station. In 1977 he graduated from “Loyola” with a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Upon graduation, Bob followed his father’s footsteps and joined PG&E as a Gas Pipeline Engineer. Bob spent 27 years with PG&E taking on many challenging and diverse work assignments. Bob’s career led him on a tour of California with his wife Cheryl living in San Jose, Stockton, Fresno and their current home in Walnut Creek. At the time of his departure from PG&E in 2004, Bob held the position of Director, New Customer Connections overseeing the New Business Process in the Corporate Headquarters in San Francisco.

Bob was extremely proud to join GTS in 2004 as a Co-Owner. He described GTS as just a small Mom & Pop operation that started in the Clapp garage in Hamilton City. Along with Scott and Katie Clapp, the three owners watched GTS grow and expand from Chico to Walnut Creek to San Ramon to LA. As the Company grew, Bob would remind employees of the values that remain key to the Company’s success – Integrity, Proficiency, Can Do, Quality and Camaraderie. These were values that Bob embraced throughout his life.
