Biomethane Gas Piping Collection Design
Project Description
Microgy, Inc. designs and installs digestor and gas processing equipment at dairies to convert manure and agricultural waste into utility-quality methane gas. Instead of constructing a gas processing system at each dairy, the Microgy approach utilizes a raw biogas collection system that connects a number of dairy digestors to a centralized gas processing facility. Costs are reduced by optimizing the economic benefit derived with the use of a single processing facility.
GTS Involvement
GTS determined the best route for the biogas collection systems, performed capacity analysis for efficient and cost effective piping sizing, and obtained necessary permits for construction. In addition, GTS designed and engineered the transmission piping from the centralized processing to the local utility connection point. Finally, GTS designed the gas quality and metering facilities at the utility connection point.
