HDD: Best Practices and Lessons Learned
This presentation will highlight Engineering best practices along with interesting challenges and outcomes from a large sampling of horizontal directional drillings (HDD’s) designed and constructed across the county. A combined perspective of pipeline and geotechnical Engineering will provide interesting insight as complex geometry, lengthy and challenging condition HDDs, and lessons learned are explored.

Pete transitioned into the natural gas pipeline engineering and construction in 2008 after starting his career as a field engineer/superintendent constructing water treatment plants. Over the last 14 years he has established himself as GTS’s SME for HDDs, Pipeline Construction, Pipeline Routing and Field Engineering. He has worked on projects across the country and worked for over a dozen large utility service providers.
